Big Parity is the latest patent pending technology from StreamScale that for the first time provides Verified Erasure Coding® to detect and protect data from corruption and loss. Unlike traditional erasure coding systems that do not verify their results, Big Parity enables storage system OEMs the ability to better support their customers HPC, Cloud, and Big Data environments by checking and correcting corruption from Silent Data Loss during times when the storage system is most vulnerable. No other Unverified Erasure Coding system can detect data errors during reconstruction. Instead, other schemes create Silent Data Corruption Amplification which propagates this corruption throughout the system and into the data protection scheme. With Big Parity OEMs can customize their customers' systems to 10 orders of magnitude greater reliability over their current RAID 6 implementations. Big Parity technology also provides the ability for OEMs to utilize the latest multi-core processors to run advanced VEC systems that correct errors before processing and during rebuilds without impacting the overall performance of the storage system.
